![]() ![]() ![]() I almost never find myself playing Crucible for simple kills, because I've always got some objective looming over me that I feel bad if I'm not working towards. This is always a problem for any Destiny 2 quest that takes place inside a matchmade competitive activity. This has been a theme for me with a recent glut of exotic hand cannon quests, and they just seem to keep coming. As a fun coincidence, I'm also a terrible teammate in Crucible right now because I'm grinding void hand cannon kills for Thorn (I'm ticking off my exotic list right now), and I'm terrible with hand cannons. The problem is that my being bad at this is a demonstrable problem for my matchmade teammates, and I'm not alone. ![]() The problem here is clearly not just that I'm bad at this-I know I'm bad at this, thank you, though I hope to finally nail it once I unlock the Truth rocket launcher. It feels like it's just sort of going to be that way until enough people get Lumina or stop trying that it's not the dominant quest. I'm used to one team running with it in Gambit, but not quite like this: I've seen instances of one team burning their primeval while the other only has 15 motes or so in the bank, I've seen teams go through near-entire rounds hardly depositing motes at all. I see them idling around places with sight lines to invader spawn points, saving up their supers and heavies in hopes of getting that perfect shot. The result has been absurdly unbalanced matches almost every time. But I've noticed something in all of these matches that I've been grinding in: other people are trying to do this too. ![]()
